Hi there 👋,
I'm starting a blog in 2020. I've been writing on the internet intermittently since circa 2009. As it turns out, confinement made great strides in helping me rekindle this old habit of mine.
Now, I want to try and grow an audience.
Topics will revolve around all-encompassing ideas that help explain little pieces of the universe we live in.
I'm kick-starting things with a couple of posts about computer science. Some coding aphorisms, and some advice for entry-level candidates in their first tech interviews that I wish I've gotten when I started in this world.
Hope you find it interesting!
Cheers,
G.
Hey dude, congrats on getting back into blogging. Just a heads up I noticed you have "subscribe" spelt wrong on your newsletter page! Sorry to be picky!
Woops!
Thanks for the heads up! Fixed it.
Hi Gerard,
I've also re-started my blog in 2020.
Consider adding newsletter subscription instead of (next to) RSS feed. My subscription audience is quite small (10ppl), but it's nice to see that someone subscribed and you have a way to reach out those returning visitors.
Good luck
Hi,
Yes, I'm also considering a newsletter but I do not want it to be a copy of the blog's content, rather something with original content where I can also refer to the blog, if subscribers want to read more.
Thanks!
Good luck! Blogs aren't dead yet, they were just resting. :)
An idea I find helpful for generating ideas to write about is 100:10:1, explained over here: https://www.nickbentley.games/the-100-10-1-method-for-game-design/
He's talking about designing games, but the process can apply to any creative endeavor. It's really helpful if you're stuck on one draft to have another you can move over to.
Thanks! Will take it into account for future posts.
