Landing Pages: One vs. Many

I've noticed two kinds of landing pages:

  1. The main landing page is one long informative page split up into sections like Pricing, Features, etc... The user does not need to navigate away. All the information is on that page with one big CTA.

  2. The main landing page is a minimalist summary page which links out to many subpages like /pricing, /features, etc... each subpage goes in depth on that particular topic. All subpages have the same CTA.

What are the pros / cons of each approach? When might it be good to go with approach 1 vs approach 2?
