Launched new website for Webhook Relay

TL;DR;

I wasn't happy with my previous website as it was several frameworks mixed in one so few weeks ago I decided to look for alternatives.

After inquiring several companies I got quotes for ~8-12K USD so decided to maybe just make it myself.

The main pain point was adapting a theme to my static page generator Hexo https://github.com/hexojs/hexo so all the links to my content stay the same. Then writing a hexo theme for the new website.

Tools used

  • CSS is mostly done through tailwindcss
  • Interactive elements like newsletter subscription are going through Webhook Relay itself (dogfooding my own service) where a form submission HTTP request is transformed into a new event (google sheets row, slack notification, etc)
  • GitHub pages for hosting
  • Cloudflare for HTTPS
  • Drone.io for building and publishing the website on github tag
