My first active month on Twitter was a mixed experience. I'll share the full stats in a few days along with a detailed analysis. Here's a post with my initial analysis
I'm following a lot of accounts that are not helping me with achieving my goal of building an audience. On Twitter, who you follow is as important as who will follow you. I have noticed that people with 1000+ followers constantly change their following. So I'll start cleaning up my "following" space to get more opportunities to comment on stuff that are relevant to my skills.
Adding value is everything. But it's also tricky. When I analyzed my posts by Tweet Impressions and Profile Visits (I'm an analytics guy- what do you expect?) I was surprised by the Tweets getting maximum impressions and also how I compared with Influencers like Alex Llull when he was in his first month. I'll write more on how I'm following Alex's techniques and my own Timeline Hacking methods in the detailed analysis with figures and charts.
I also realized that the perceived value in my Tweets will come from studying my previous tweets and those of people who have already been on the same path as me (and were successful in gaining followers). In Twitter you can't plan content that'll go viral- so learning from the past and constant optimization is the way forward.
I've decided to publish my findings here in IH as well my analytics blog to keep a journal of my growth journey. I'd prefer not to publish a lot of it on Twitter as I want to focus only on my analytics business there.
My aim is to have 1000 followers by the end of April 2021. So publishing my goals and metrics publicly will act as a psychological urge for me to put in the hard work even when things are not rosy.
I'm already seeing some silver lining and am optimistic about 2021. See you in the next post.
