Question: I’m going to be hiring soon for a full-stack software engineer, contract to hire, in London - how/where would I find an avg. salary range? I have one I have budgeted for but need to double-check that it makes sense for the market.
Not sure what data is available for London, but there's lots of US-based data on sites like PayScale, Paysa, Glassdoor, etc.
I understand London salaries are a bit lower than US cities with equivalent cost of living, but a Full Stack Software Engineer in NYC, SF, Seattle, etc. would run you around $125k-175k, depending on experience. Normal for companies like Google/Amazon/Microsoft to pay $200k+. Since you said CTH, hourly rates would run about $125/hr, again DOE.
I would go search through glassdoor, or another comparable source, for local companies that are similar to your company who have positions similar to those which you would like to fill.
Maybe you can say the number what you thought
The site https://levels.fyi has too employer pay. It's a bit lower in London. See what job ads are offering in the area.
