Hi,
I recently launched https://distantfinds.com
It is a community where customers of Chinese shopping sites (e.g. AliExpress) can post product reviews/Q&As and converse with one another. On the landing page there is a demo video which shows some of the functionality available after sign up.
I would love to hear what you think about the idea and product (so far).
I'm also not sure where to go from here. Do you think I should focus on creating more content? Is there any key feature that is missing? or?
why do I need a 3rd party review site for aliexpress?
Thanks for the feedback! Fair question, to be honest I'm not sure if there is a lot of demand for such a site.
I googled "3rd party review site for aliexpress" after reading your question and the first result was a reddit thread looking for such a site
https://www.reddit.com/r/Aliexpress/comments/g4hpab/is_there_a_3rd_party_review_site_for_ali_express/
I did post on r/SideProject a few days ago and got asked the same question https://www.reddit.com/r/SideProject/comments/iz1svo/i_created_a_community_for_customers_of_chinese/g6gckag
The functionality looks great so far, so I wouldn't focus on building any additional features.
I think the next step would be looking for validation and a revenue model. Did you have a plan to charge users?
Thanks for the feedback! I will hold off on building additional features.
I will try to focus on adding more content and acquiring more users. There are only 2 other users that have contributed content as of now.
I think charging users is out of the question as it will be difficult to acquire them for free. I will look into ads and affiliate marketing if the product gains any traction.
Hi!
I overviewed the page together with a video :) but still struggle to understand - what is the product for? What makes it worth doing this via DistantFinds as opposed to just working directly in AliExpress? The page tells about the solution, but it's not obvious (for me at least) what problem does it solve.
