Looking for feedback on my first week Building in public

Hello! 1 week and a few days ago I started letterbase.co a repository of newsletters looking for sponsors and collaboration. These are the stats so far:

  • 312 Unique Visitors to the website
  • 666 Page views 👿
  • 64% Bounce Rate (Expected this one to be higher)
  • 9 Newsletters joined!

stats from letterbase 1
stats from letterbase 2
stats from letterbase 3

What's working

  • Cold messaging on Twitter DMs
  • Searching "newsletter" and responding to recent tweets
  • Asking for feedback in Indie Hackers

What's not working

  • Tweeting, since I have like 17 followers.
  • Reddit. The newsletter oriented subreddits don't have much activity

What are my plans:

I've created a page to list free resources to help newsletters grow and my hopes is that this will attract more newsletters to join the list. I'm planning on creating more content to help newsletters grow.

I'll keep reaching out to newsletters through twitter and I might start sending some cold emails.

What do you guys think? Any ideas?

Awesome idea Jordi! Newsletters have been growing a lot in popularity, I can easily see the value in something like Letterbase. You got 1 more follower on Twitter :-) hopefully, it will keep growing over time. Best of luck!

    I love this @jordienric.

How are you find people to cold message on Twitter.

I'm trying to build an email list and trying to learn.

Hello Prateek! You can find resources to grow your email list at letterbase.co/resources.

I'm cold-messaging only people I follow or have been recommended to me for their newsletters so far. Also I've been using portals like newsletters.co to find possible newsletters that would like to join and probably will send a cold-email to some of them.

Right now I'm only sending messages to newsletters that I think could find letterbase useful.

Thank you for your kind words!
