Looking for UI/UX feedback on our app design

Hi all,

My friend and I recently launched our app on the App Store (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id1580599572). We initially were only able to launch in the US due to the limited reverse-geocoding capability; but we are now available worldwide!! Both of us are from engineering background and neither has experience in UI/UX; therefore, we wanted to reach out and seek input.

We are looking for some feedback; what do you like and/or not like about the app? What features do you think we should improve or expand upon?

Thanks for any help in advance!!

Hey Devin. Neat release. I've downloaded your app and have taken a really quick, initial look.

    • For the landing page, the contrast between the icons for Facebook and Apple and the background could be increased. I'd likely also maybe consider adding the names to those services just for clarity.

    • Your tabbar really needs more padding at the bottom because it is difficult to tap a button and not tap the iOS feature that lets you swipe the screen up (iPhone 12 Pro Max). I also hate to sound like a broken record, but these could also use labels. For a new app, it is generally best to err on the side of too much labeling until you build up enough history with your users to know what the meaning of each icon is. For instance, I am not sure that the plus icon button is clear right away that means "share trip"

    • The pager dots on your image slideshow could use a background to help with discoverability. I didn't see them right away.

    • There looks like there may be an extra space between "all" and "comments" in the "view all comments" string in the home feed. I'd also think to make that a contrasting color to make it more clear that it is clickable.

    • Maybe consider adding more margin between each "card" on the home screen or maybe some sort of visual break between them so it is more clear from where one card ends and the next begins.

-I think your camel / mountain logo is pretty cool.

Thank you so much for the valuable feedback!! We'll iterate an update as soon as possible! Much appreciated!
