I have multiple ideas, but I would like to partner with other people to sort through my own ideas and sort through the millions of other ideas that my be better than mine. Then, shortlist a few and work on them.
My preference is to work on things that can be bootstrapped with a low amount of cash, but I’m not opposed to one day taking outside cash. I think Angel + VC’s can be more work and problems to deal with than actually building the underlying idea.
I’m happy to partner with anybody who works in development, marketing, PR, cryptocurrency, AI / ML, UX, and product development. From a domain perspective, also interested in working with people in mental health, banking & finance, and consumer.
About Me:
With respect to indie hacking, I’m a jack of several trades, and a master of a few:
My Domain Experience:
Finance - worked in investment and retail banking for 12 years within Risk Management, Leveraged Buyout Financing, and the IT department.
My Functional Experience:
Javascript Development - Pretty decent with javascript Node.js development. On the front-end, struggle a lot with CSS.
Digital Marketing - Ok with main PPC platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads). Struggle a lot with the ad platforms that produce a lot of bot traffic. Understand the fundamentals of organic search, but I don’t believe it’s a good path anymore when starting out unless the topic area has low competition. Also struggle a little with the practice of content distribution strategies.
Machine Learning + Applied Statistics- Not an expert, but have education and worked both professionally and personally with the fundamentals and more niche topics. I’m not the guy who will invent a new algorithm, but I’m pretty good at finding an algorithm that best fits the current problem and “making it fit.”
Cryptocurrency - I love crypto. Started working with Solidity (Ethereum) in 2015. Worked quite a bit with Bitcoin Core and Litecoin Coin core API’s. Tried to start my own bill payment service in the UK where people could pay their bills with bitcoin / litecoin. Was at the final stage of getting a payment license by the UK Financial Conduct Authority, but everything died because I couldn’t get access to the payment system. Built the tech stack in 3 months; spent 9 trying to get payment system access.
1 thing I am definitely not good at: enterprise sales.
