Made it to HackerNews homepage 🎊🎉🥂

Released v1 on HackerNews a day ago. Made it to the front page today. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27095588
Traffic in the last 5 hours is >1k. The Twilio API broke because my balance went <0$ so I am now sending welcome emails manually - grinding 😅.

The problem that I am trying to solve - saving, organizing and annotating online resources such as podcasts, blogposts, newsletters, videos... - seems to be quite intense in the Hacker community. This is a good validation of the value prop!

Try it out here www.shelf.so and send feedback at [email protected] 👋

Congrats! My cofounder and I launched a free tool on ShowHN, and it has been pretty beneficial for SEO :)

It's always nice to see thoughtful (and kind) questions/comments on HN. Great job, and upvoted :)

      Thank you Andrew!
The feed-back from HN has been really beneficial indeed - plenty of HN members have already experienced the problem I am trying to solve, deeply thought about it and come up with insightful MVPs.
I'd recommend any builder to share on HN as early as possible!

Great work, and I definitely think you're solving a real problem there. Potential to recommend further reading based on other saved documents in the future?

      Thank you for the feedback!
Recommendations are definitely on the roadmap + my background is in Data Science/ML so I can't wait to play around with recommender systems!
I always dreamt of finding new resources based on my Google search history - I believe that traditional search is quite restrictive and new exploratory models can be created!

Hey this looks great! I think we're somewhat in the same problem space too. Would love to talk more and hear how it's going for you!

Hi Brian, thank you for the feedback!
Definitely - you can reach out at [email protected] so that we can share our perspectives on the space!
      Cheers

Brilliant. I'm working on something in the exact same space. So it's super nice to learn that I'm not the only one who cares about it, and that you were able to get some support on HN.

I posted there recently, although I didn't use - show hn, and my marketing and landing page aren't nearly as simple and effective at communicating as yours are :D

Great work man. I'm beyond thrilled that there are people hacking away in this space.

I think its THE 21st century challenge... I guess after pandemics and stuff :D

      Thank you for the feedback!
I also believe this space is highly underrated. Any internet user needs a utility to save, organize and annotate online resources.
Existing players in the space such as Pocket or Instapaper provide a useful service, but they have stopped shipping features.
I believe there is room for an all-in-one integrated tool - some kind of "Figma of PKM" to 10x the current experience.
Feel free to reach out by email if you'd like to discuss the space!

Congrats! 💥 Love the tool! I definitely have trouble dealing with all the interesting online resources. Keep it up!

Thanks - please reach out if you have any feature request!

Just sent you an email with a few ideas! 💡

Congrats! You made it . How do you get lex fridman written your testimony?

I think getting visibility on hackernews can be pretty difficult, so congrats to you! And I'll definitely check your site! ;)

Damn, congrats for echoing your success. I noticed that's a nice way to ride the wave:

    → Do something successful
→ Announce it in other places
→ Use that momentum for the next things you're doing

Nothing wrong with that IMO, since you're making use of the validation/social proof you got somewhere else. Congrats Louis!

      Thanks Daniel!
Agreed - I am very much a believer of "Building in public".
Harry Hurst from Pipe is the perfect example of the founder sharing his learnings with the world.
I think it benefits both the founder and other would-be entrepreneurs!
