Making of a new app design tool

Hello everyone,

We've built the user interfaces of many demanding web apps over the last decade, and one thing we've always been frustrated with is the mismatch of technologies available in UI and UX design. We see designers and product managers spending weeks just to create simple UI designs, and creating a spiderweb of difficult to manage and re-use UI designs, all because the tools of their trade are illustration tools that don't have any knowledge of application behavior, or only scratch the service of application design by tacking on animations and button clicks that do nothing more than reveal another static screen.

So, we've decided to work on our idea of the perfect application design and prototyping tool that puts UX, design systems, and application-level functionality front and center.

Instead of spending lots of time making bespoke UI components using vector graphics tools, our goal is to create an application design tool where you can start with a "Standard enterprise web app" or a "Standard mobile app", and customize to fit your particular use cases, where you can easily create screens that actually work on real data, with little effort.

We're just getting started, but we're sharing our progress each step of the way. Follow our progress on Twitter, https://twitter.com/HeyUXZen
