Hi, I just released Maildown, an email sending API that I built over the last 2 days: https://maildown.dev
I've made a few small side projects over the years and one of my biggest pain points is email - I hate going through the process of wrestling with WYSIWYG editors and contact lists you get with the big email providers, so it's to solve my own problem.
The idea is simple - it's an email API that allows you to quickly generate and send emails in markdown formatting, that handles GDPR/unsubscribes for you with the minimum of fuss.
Is this something that you think you'd find useful? Keen to get some feedback on both the product and the landing page.
As this is an early stage thing, and because I've always taken a lot of value from using this forum, I'm offering a 50% discount for Indie Hackers - just ping me for details if you're interested
I know I am 2 years late, but I'd love to hear what happened to your project.
Never really had the time to market it. Still have the source code for it somewhere
Aah ok. I think I found the source: https://github.com/chris104957/maildown on the second page of my search here :)
I was thinking of creating something that allows me to commit a markdown file (newsletter/email/etc) and the backing service automatically sends an email to subscribers.
Yeah that’s the open source version of it. Not really maintained at all, but feel free to grab the source code if you want it
