Me vs. the Law of Averages

If you're anything like me, you build and ship all the time. Each time hoping this will be a "successful" project. Success is measured by everyone differently but for me success if being able to be responsible for the delivery of a service to people that are all receptive and giving great feedback.

Well today, I think I might be getting somewhere. The most simple (and least technical) project I have ever done is getting more traction than anything I've ever made and I am doing my best to communicate with all my users and be attentive to them. It's awesome just to hear "Great Work" from someone you have never met - its more motivating than the original concept sometimes.

I have built and shipped SO MANY PROJECTS all that garner a tiny bit of attention (~200 hits) which I am forever thankful for, but as all of us founders know - the more the merrier!

I have had to build (and break) new features at a rate so fast I think my keyboard has melted and I have loved every second. The funny thing is that the site isn't even that big compared to the throughput of how many DAU some founders on here have, but you have to start somewhere.

I hope to remain on a positive note and do my best to cater to my end users, even if that number is comparatively small right now.

I went from a simple S3 site to now an S3 + CloudFront distributed site and having to signup for a bulk email service (AWS SES) and get rolling because my email list is growing too fast.

Good problems to have. Have a great weekend everyone and keep IndieHacking.

Great job. Make sure you have a monetization strategy in place. Even a buymeacoffee link will help you pay the bills.

    Hi Timothy,
I love the concept - you're a regular John Oliver!
I also love the fact that you built something of value and that it doesn't always correlate with complexity!
I have a future blog post about that running around in my head, can I interview you for that?
Also, I wrote a blog post yesterday about choosing which features to add to your roadmap: https://jonathanoron.substack.com/p/product-roadmap-done-right
Maybe that will help you :)
    Thanks for sharing!

Jonathan, for sure! You can best contact me at [email protected]. We can do it over email or arrange a discussion at a later time.

      Hope to hear from you!

Very cool idea. Your UI could use some work, but I love the concept.

agreed - was a simple HTML template. I just wanted to get the data out there as easy as possible without being stuck trying to make everything look good on every platform and neglect the value proposition.
