Meet Betty Bot, our chatbot to help people through the Covid-19 crisis

Hi!

We are in lockdown for a while now in France.

With our friends and family, we started to share a lot of info, games, ideas and tips for spending that time nicely.

I wanted to share all this to help people during this crisis.

So, I created Betty Bot, a chatbot to help people through the Covid-19 crisis.

Betty Bot can:

  • give you the latest numbers,
  • answer to your questions,
  • help you cope with your anxiety,
  • give you many ideas to be in a good mood and good shape.

    I hope you're ok ;) I reviewed your website .

    If you want my feedback :

    First of all, I appreciate the originality of your product.

    The experience is smooth, it's pretty entertaining to talk with the bot.

    I like the fact that the bot time of response is really short.

    But : First (I talk to you as a user, so I hope to give you helpful feedbacks, or at least things to think about, even though that's only my opinion) .

    So ,
    I clicked for curiosity, but I honnestly personally wouldn't spend time engaging in such interaction, when I have youtube...? (without disrespect at all)
    (What's your stance on that aspect? How do you keep the users on your web page, when I really can't see how to be bored in the era of the Web? I personally never feel bored, at all...I can only watch 1/100th of all the content I'd like to consume...)

    Second, on your landing page : It took me 20 seconds to figure out where to click (I made the person next to me try, and he had the exact same reaction : We had no idea where to click at first.

    So we clicked on the product hunt link, came back and then figured out the product was actually the bot.

    But, as most websites do have bots, it's pretty surprising to see it presented the same way as a regular website. We both subconsciously assumed it was a normal bot, which would take us to your contact info...

    So, I would personally have made it way more obvious that the product is actually the bot.

    But, it's only my opinion and may have thought about every point I mentioned already.

      Hi @Swlf, thanks a lot for your feedback, you are so nice!

      Betty Bot exists because I wanted to push infos and advice. If you search something specific, you will find everything you need on the internet, but first you have to search for something!
      Betty Bot:

      • exposes people to everything they have to know about Covid especially prevention insisting on what are the good sources of info
      • suggests activities and games to avoid people to be bored and depressed (they would probably not think about becoming a chief cook for example and will never make research to follow some great chiefs on Insta, I made the search for them)

      For the UX pb (where to click), I totally agree, a big embed format would have been better but we didn't build it yet ;)

    I told Betty Bot a joke and she didn't respond is it a bug or is my joke, not that funny?

      Hey @S10ry ! Good point, I didn't explain well! Betty just took your joke. If I laugh, Betty will tell to others.
      She should laugh and say "I'll think about telling your joke to others"
