I'm reading Atomic Habits right now and I'm planning on applying it to how I approach and deal with money. (My approach to managing my finances up until now has very much been a head-in-the-sand approach. It stresses me out, and so (in the past --I'm changing this year!) I avoided spending time with my money.) I'm starting small and easy: having a weekly money date with myself where I sign into my accounts and to learn one new thing (e.g., read a chapter of a finance book, listen to a money podcast, read an article, etc).
Do you have any money habits? If so, what are they?
That's a nice habit hack to learn more about money. I think I might 'steal' that and try for myself too. I'm also setting a theme this month to learn about money and monetisation. So thanks!
Steal away, and let me know how it goes! Happy to chat more if you have questions or want to share how it's going for you :)
Cheers thanks!
I'm with you. There's something about financies and paperwork that gives me anxiety haha. Because of that, I automated mostly everything by putting it on auto-pay. I also set up alerts on my cc account if there are any purchases above a couple hundred bucks.
And about once a month I check in to all my accounts just to make sure nothing is wonky.
Savings are automated with Acorns. I also tend to check my net worth on mint.com monthly :-)
