Most annoying thing when learning how to code? 🐱‍💻

Hi Folks 👋 What do you HATE the most when you do an online course?
I finished a ReactJS/NextJS course recently and faced a few issues that made it harder to complete. What about u?

I think the most annoying part when learning to code is not knowing how to apply that knowledge as you gain it. Project-based learning is always the best way out, especially with coding.

By the way, I mostly learned how to code using Youtube 😄

Definitely second this. Sometimes you even find projects to work on but can't stay motivated long enough to finish or put any effort into it as well

I feel you on this. In my case, I needed to quickly build an MVP to validate an idea. And for this purpose I went on to learn the exact programming language that would allow me to get it done as soon as possible.

So true. Youtube helped me a lot too, is just harder to find the right content on youtube as it is not organised enough. What stack did u learn? Also, how do you come up with problems to solve?

Can’t get my dev environment set up! I am looking at you “rails”! So I was on the rails tutorial and could never get passed the first 5 minutes! 🤣

I know right… We've all been there, mate 🤣. I suggest you consider using online IDE. https://replit.com/~ for instance is a huge time-saver tool, while being extremely powerful and beginner-friendly.

Hey thanks Dan! Will check it out later. Really want to pick up rails as it has a bunch of goodies for the CRUD.
