Some days ago I stumbled upon a tweet from @dr saying that he added an MRR progress bar to his Twitter profile.
Then, @jsjoeio went above and beyond, automating it — inspired by @yongfook tweet.
@levelsio also jumped on this micro trend (micro seems to be a trending word nowadays) and is now featuring his MRR progress bar.
Then, a few more cropped up on my timeline:
Have you seen other indie hackers adding it to their profile? Are you also planning to create yours?
thought it was a fun thing to add to my profile and it took me less than 15 mins to automate it.
don't over-analyze any more than that.
This is just a tool to show off. In the end influencer live off the fact that their audience didn't develop to the person they want to become:)
And, actually, influencer don't strive for their audience and the audience succeeds. Because that means, the influencer would loose follower:)
That does make sense.
It's a bit tacky, isn't it?
@noahwbragg started a thread asking who else is doing it here
Yes there are few others like noahwbragg, volodarik, damengchen
Not sure if you I'm going to do it.
Nice post! I was going to write something up on this but looks like I don't have to. :)
It's a nice to have.. maybe it's an ego thing.. I dunno, there's not too much value there.
Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to do this?
Could something similar be accomplished using IFTTT or Zapier?
Added docs this morning: https://github.com/jsjoeio/twitter-stripe-mrr/tree/update-docs#twitter-stripe-mrr
Probably! Another indie hacker did it with no code here: https://twitter.com/mddanishyusuf/status/1374277179610071044?s=19
@jsjoeio Thank you! Seriously, so helpful!
Question, why the focus on revenue when intuitively, net income or take home is what matters?
Thanks for the mention, Leo! I've seen a couple others add it. It would be cool to have a Twitter List of all the indie hackers using it.
