My 63.4% cold email reply rate journey

My team builds SAAS products and services for limited businesses. Marketing for such a business is exceptionally crucial, so I rely on cold outreach to target specific customers. As a result, I usually get the earliest and most lucrative deals through the best cold email strategy I've come up with.

Many people underestimate how powerful a strategy cold emailing can be—at least at its full potential.

That's why I've written this comprehensive guide( divided it in steps in upcoming posts ) on cold emailing to get the best response.

The first part is data collection; the three major points of this process are:

Define customer list

  1. Defining the target customer list

The most important step you can take to increase your chance of a sale is knowing your customer; by that, I mean the person/business in need of your product, who needs or would benefit the most from it. I cannot stress how important this step is; you cannot sell prescription glasses to a person with perfect vision, so knowing your consumer is key.

2. Build a target customer lists

"Quality over quantity"

Have heard of this quote;🤔 well it’s true. So keep this in mind and make a list of targeted customers. This step takes the longest and requires the most patience.

  • You can start by going to LinkedIn and search for businesses, business owners, CEOs, etc., for small businesses.

  • If you want to go for the big dogs, the OGs try to get the email of the head of marketing or director or someone like that in the company to make decisions.

  • Once you've found the guy on LinkedIn, you can go through their profile. You can use different tools such as anymail, finder, reply.io. hunter.io and many more to get their email with one click of a button. These are paid services, but if you're not gonna need a lot of emails, they usually have a free service as well. I think it's like 50 free email months or something like that, but if you need more to see these tools yourselves and decide which one gives you the most bang for your buck. And you've got yourselves a credible list of potential customers.

Email Validation
3. Verify your list

Congratulations,😃 you're through the hard part and got yourselves a list now to make it credible and increase your chance of making a sale. However, we are left with the last part of verifying the emails we have collected. We can use services, such as reply.io, woodpecker or bright confirm. These websites use mail servers to verify the emails, which confirms a valid email, which will help to increase your future email deliverability.

With that, give yourselves a pat on the back and good luck with your sales and when you make them remember you've earned them😌
