Last week I wrote my first piece on IH about sending 1000 personalised emails per week.

In this piece I wanted to talk about the single most important thing in sending emails: Your email 💌.
I started figuring out sales about a year ago when me and my co-founders started Internative. We knew nothing about sales, so we had to start from scratch and figured out what worked and what didn't.
After testing and sending 21,576 emails I believe we have a solid email copy with a specific structure that is working for us.
This I want to share with you wizards.
We noticed that 'outside the box' worked when doing cold outreach, so we started sending (semi)personalised videos. Everyone is sending the same dry emails talking about their product and what ROI it can deliver for company XYZ blablabla..... It might actually be true, but everyone is tired of hearing the same thing.
Sending a video to someone stands out and provides the opportunity to tell your story. You get their attention.
People who got our email, saw a picture of me with a whiteboard which said " Video for {firstname}" with their company logo next to it....
Like this:
Would you click on it? Hell yes you would!
So how did we construct our email?
It consists out of three parts:
💁 Part 1: People do business with people. So introduce yourself... but beware of standard stuff.
Mine: "Together with three fellow alumni I built an Internship platform to connect students with cool companies using WhatsApp."
This is different than:
"Hi, my name is Iron and I work for company XYZ" (aka Salespitch incoming....)
🧨 Part 2: Outline a problem they have, which resonates with your prospect. Be specific and don't talk about ROI.
So I used the following phrase to point this out:
"As a student I was only familiar with the big companies, but there are 10,000+ other companies out there you just can't seem to find.
And to be honest I wouldn't have found {CompanyName} either...."
I am basically telling them that they need to work on their employer branding, because students like me can't find them. This should trigger someone to continue reading and check out the video.
📹 Part 3: Video with Call To Action (CTA)
In the video I elaborate on the statement I made in part two. After which I talk briefly about what we build and how students use our platform to reach out to companies like them.
CTA: Create urgency + Lock your meeting
The last few seconds of the video I create a sense of urgency and grab my chance by asking for a meeting with a specific date. So I end by saying:
"At this moment students are actively looking for internship opportunities on our platform. If this is interesting for you, let's have a call. I'm available on Wednesday or Thursday afternoon, let me know what suits you."
Believe it or not.... but Wednesday and Thursday afternoon have been busy lately...
@IronBrands can you share the link to video?
Omg I just got a business idea from this
Love you Iran <3
Good to hear its helping you out!
