My First 2 Coffees and 500 Subs - Yesterday Was a Great Day .

Yesterday, my little side project The Slice got not only 1 but 2 coffees from 2 happy readers of my newsletter! And..I also just happened to pass the 500 subscriber mark this week.

Really stoked with the reception I have gotten in the last two months with my little side project, next milestone is 1000 subs!

Hey I really like your newsletter!!

  2. 2

Congrats Nic. What has been the biggest source of traffic for you?

    1. 1

My top 3 is definitely IH, Twitter and Reddit. I also find that a lot of my subscribers forward the newsletter to recipients who are not subscribed, which is really great.

Somebody actually asked me what I do for my marketing strategy, so I'll probably make a long-form post on IH about that and how I leverage other peoples Twitter audience.

Call me a newb but what does IH stand for? Also - that's awesome! You must be including some real content if people are sharing it!

Also - what's your niche? I want to start using reddit but I'm not sure how to not seem promotional 😂 any tips?

IH is the acronym for Indie Hackers

Nic, what service are you using for your newsletter?

    1. 1

I use EmailOctopus, in the beginning I was originally going to use MailChimp, but decided to try something new and go with Emailoctopus and wasn’t disappointed 🙏🏻

    Congrats @TheWonderingZall 🙌🏻

Your subscriber-growth is pretty impressive 🤩 Are you taking any specific marketing measures?

I remember the day when I received my first coffee with Creativerly, it was a great feeling! I added the buymeacoffee link to Creativerly 6 months ago, and since then I received 13 Coffees 🥰 I am thankful for every single one, it just great to see you are building a product/newsletter which your subscribers enjoy that much, that they are showing their love and support.

Keep at it! I just signed up for The Slice, can not wait to read the next issue.

Thank you! I’m a big fan of Creativerly, been a subscriber for about a 2 months or so.

I actually came across buy me coffee from your newsletter initially.

Somebody asked the me the same question on what I do about growth, and I decided I’d probably make a long form post on IH, but I did so by leveraging my features twitter audience.

That is great to hear 🙌🤩

Very curious about your upcoming posting!
