Nearing that 1,000 subscriber mark...

Who else sets goals and then gets REALLY anxious when you start getting close to it?

I started the year around 750 subscribers, and am getting close to the 1,000 goal I set for the end of March.

Any thoughts from the group on how to boost that number, reach more people, and smash that 1,000 sub goal are greatly appreciated!

Congrats! I am in a process of building a newsletter for our buisness. I would love to hear about how you got there.

Getting to this point has been a long, long slog over many years. I'd been hovering around the 500-600 mark since about 2015, and it wasn't growing because I wasn't focusing on it in any meaningful way.

Once I decided that I really wanted to focus on growing my community and audience last year, the numbers have started to grow, because that focus leads to taking action and then testing to see if that action worked.

So I would start there. Set a goal, then start taking action, and remember to keep testing to ensure that the action you're taking is getting you the desired results.

That's great, Daren. 1,000 is a major milestone! I just signed up for your newsletter.

What methods are you using to promote the newsletter? Maybe we can help with a tip or three.

      I'd LOVE some tips!

Right now most people are being added to the newsletter when they sign up for a course on craftsmancreative.co

I'm notoriously bad at spreading myself too thin, so I have two businesses (check my profile) that I'm growing, which doesn't leave a ton of time for the newsletter.

I do publish once a week and that gets sent out as an email, then posted to the blog (daren.blog) and sent out across facebook twitter and linkedin. There are capture forms on my website and I often (at least 1x per week) will do tweet threads on a topic that overlaps with the newsletter, and add a call to action as the last tweet to sign up for the newsletter.

Thoughts? What would you add to reach more people and grow that audience better?
