Need advice for long term contract

Have an opportunity for an annual contract, but I'm unsure of what clauses are absolutely essential.

Couple things I could think of so far is mentioning sick leaves / general leaves.

But apart from that I would welcome any advice on other things I should have in the contract.

Thanks !

Worth noting that AppSumo have a contract generation freebie at the moment. Just grabbed it myself: https://appsumo.com/approvemes-ultimate-contract-template-library/

    Hi Moniet,

Here are some points to consider:

    • Who owns the intellectual property rights of your work (your employer usually does).

    • Whether you can write about the work you do and include it in your portfolio.

    • When you're expected to invoice the employer (if required).

    • When you expect to be paid.

    • Whether the work must be done on-site or remotely.

    • How soon you're expected to respond to emails.

    • What mode of communication you can commit to for support etc, e.g. email, chat or phone.

Those are just some general ones, but have a think about what your typical day would look like or how you'd like it to be, and check whether they're ok with what you are expecting.

    All the best!
