Nested Newsletter - Joining Forces with Another Newsletter

I received an interesting proposition to make my current newsletter Cybersecurity Market Insights a part of much larger newsletter brand.

The two newsletters are in the same space (cybersecurity) but on completely different topics within the field so likely very little audience overlap. The proposal is to join forces and use each other’s brands to continue to build one another up and create a destination for all things in that space. My newsletter would be a {Other Newsletter Publication}.

I’m pretty surprised at the opportunity and there are a lot more details to flush out, but has anyone seen or experienced this kind of thing before?

Is this a Joint Venture agreement?

    1. 1

That's one of the details I still need to work out @KnightsofG.

I think a JV would be my best-case scenario unless I'm missing something. I would still be keeping my newsletter list, have the final creative say, revenue from the paid side, etc..

The person who owns the bigger newsletter is looking to expand his brand. They plan on venturing into other content like podcasts and want to use my newsletter as another type of original content (OC).

My goal in this would be to increase the audience for my own newsletter, help him build out his brand and content more, and build up my own brand more in the process.
