Hello all. I have been working on my newsletter concept and I would love some feedback from the crew. Before I dive in just want to thank everyone in this community for being awesome, supportive, and inspiring me to figure out how to make the life I want.
I believe there exists a gap in the space regarding communication. I am thinking of specifically targeting founders, indie hackers, and makers who often undervalue or underemphasize communication skills because they are so focused on building and hustling. I strongly believe, however, that effective communicators win. Those who can best explain their ideas, values, concepts, etc. often end up on the top of the pile.
In this case I am speaking of communication very broadly. This includes visual, written, verbal, from chatting with teammates or communities in Slack to negotiating a deal.
My idea is not to provide listicles or bite-sized advice (though that sort of thing may be a component of my newsletter at times) but longer-form dives into certain areas related to communication mediums, types, styles, and other relevant topics.
For example, the first draft of newsletter 1.0 is about documentation - its importance in software and beyond, a few tips on how to create exceptional documentation, and a couple examples.
I'm still tweaking and fine tuning both the content and the monetization strategy, but wanted to get a sort of proof of concept written out to see what this thing could look like and get some feedback.
The majority of content will be for subscribers only but I have made the proof of concept issue available to the public so I can share it with you all.
Issue 1.0 --> TLP Newsletter Issue 1.0
Let me know what you think about the overall concept and/or the specific article if you have time to check it out.
Brutal honesty and constructive criticism welcomed with open arms. Thanks in advance.
