Newsletters owners brain pick

Newsletter owners,

I've been approached by someone who would like to reach out to my day-job-company's newsletter audience as he has something our subscribers would potentially benefit from. I wanted to pick your brain on what I can answer to him:

  • What would it take for you to include a recommendation (e.g. link to a 3rd party platform) in your newsletter?
  • He's offering an affiliate program. Does that work for anyone?
  • If yes to the above question, what do you think works better as commission - a % or a fixed sum?

I don't want to sell our company short, just wanted to see what everyone else is doing.

Thank you!

Hi @jkristobans, thank you for your insight! I completely agree with you on the %, but it didn't even occur to me to promote the product before offering it. That's a good point - if subscribers don't respond to it, no point in selling it.
