Notion extensions

Hey there!

I'm building a web service to give notion super powers thanks to small, configurable extensions.

The first extension I'm working on is the highly-requested "auto increment number". Although it's pretty much done, I would like to give early access to some people before making an official public launch.

If you are interested on trying it out, you should know:

  1. When you configure the extension for a large database for the first time, it will take a bit until all the pages get updated with the auto incremented number. This is because the extension needs to update the pages one by one.
  2. Because of how notion works, the pages created within the same minute will get updated randomly by the extension. In other words:
    • User A creates 3 new pages in a row. Notion batches the creation and the new 3 pages have the exact same creation date.
    • The extension doesn't have a way of knowing which of these 3 pages was created first since they all have the same date, so it basically updates those
pages randomly to include the auto-incremented number.

Interested?

Just visit notionextensions.brais.dev [temporary domain during the alpha] and create an account to start configuring the first extension 🙂

I will be sharing my progress on Twitter, so you can follow me @braisthinks.

Roadmap

  • [x] Auto increment number
  • [ ] Google and apple's calendars integration
  • [ ] Automatic creation of pages every hour/day/week... (useful for habit trackers, journals...)
  • [ ] Github integration
  • [ ] More soon based on your feedback!

    Hi Brais!

My name is Leandro and I am the creator of Notion2Sheets and same as you we have seen in Reddit and Facebook groups a lot of people asking for this feature and we share the frustration sentiment about Created time and Last edited time with you.

I think you probably have good use cases in "Automatic creation of pages every hour/day/week", people need a good way of creating recurring tasks, habits and more. Have seen people asking for example for a page to be created when a database page changes a value from X to Y, for example statuses.

    Cheers!

      Hey Leandro!

Shame to hear that other makers are struggling with that issue too :(
And I really appreciate your piece of feedback, I think that the automatic creation of pages is in fact something a lot of people are looking for.
I've added it to my notes, thanks!

      All the best!
