As makers/builders/hackers, we’re constantly countered with the phrase “You shouldn’t reinvent the wheel“ when creating something new. It effectively halts the discussion, and puts a downer on your drive.
Don’t make your own design systems, graphics, frameworks, architectures, ... Really, just don't make your own products. Mission accomplished. For the critic, anyways.
But you're not “reinventing”, are you? No. You're improving. Making it better. Learning. Growing. Inspiration is scarce: Treasure it when it strikes... and reinvent that wheel if you have to.
