One Weekend Hustle - Part 2

This article is about my one-weekend hustle. If you haven't already read Part 1, then I urge you to do so before reading the rest of this post.

Last night I created the following list of ideas:

  • Email Collection Utility
  • Automated Phone Call Creator(Twilio Backend)
  • Crowdsourced Idea Validation - Put your money where your mouth is.
  • Rolling Phone Call in Browser - Pay per call.
  • Twilio Bot that calls someone and uses text-to-voice to send them a message on your behalf
  • Temporary, secure, anonymous, and disposable Phone Number(like temp mail)
  • Community Management Tool
    • Gather a list of emails
    • Send mass emails
    • Respond to your users
    • Draft new content
    • See analytics
  • Product Price Tracking Tool
  • Landing Page Builder(like cared)
  • Responsive Email Editor/Creator
  • Blog with a lot of cool products I use w/ Affiliate Links

From there I narrowed down what I wanted to do by focusing on the idea of a responsive email editor. I put together a codesandbox using grape.js and react.. then after realizing that wasn't exactly what I was looking for, I played around with craft.js a bit as well. After about 2 hours of messing around with code, I realized I wouldn't be able to keep it up all weekend. I also noticed that 10 out of 11 of my ideas are code-based and I need to push myself into other territories. So I packed up the idea for another weekend and switched over to the Blog with a lot of cool products I use w/ Affiliate Links.

I've wanted to try ghost.org for a while. So I signed up for their Trial, bought the domain ifyoucatchmydrift.com, installed a theme, and moved forward.

My next step is to go through in my home and my order history to find items I feel are worthy to write about on the blog.

Consider giving this post a like and follow as your support keeps me motivated. Thank you and happy hustle:)

Update June 6, 2020 - 12:22PM

After doing everything above, I created a product page for ifyoucatchmydrift.com here in Indie Hackers. From this point forward, I will make my posts about this journey on that page.
