I have been working on Rumin to streamline workflows in knowledge management and synthesis, for myself and others.
Today I'm making one of the components open source: https://github.com/jhlyeung/rumin-web-clipper
So that others can extend it to better suit their needs. It is useful for saving online learnings, screenshots, and it can automatically extract content from certain sites (such as YouTube, edX, Kindle, Netflix, etc.).
Previously, I had used other existing web clipper extensions by Evernote, OneNote, and Notion, but all of them had something missing that would significantly slow me down. One thing I realized over time is that everyone has a slightly different workflow, and the best tools should be powerful yet customizable. So this is a first of many steps towards building a more open productivity platform.
Would love to hear any feedback from fellow Indie Hackers.
Also shared it on Hacker News, so any comments/upvotes there would be appreciated as well :)
