Outsourcing Copywriting / Design / Coding

I really need to upgrade my current landing page. But i don't want to spend a lot of time on it and would love to outsource the process as much as possible.

Do you have any recommendations for outsourcing landing pages?

Should i just hire a random guy on fiverr? Or find a professional copy writer first? What should i expect to have to pay for the complete package?

You can take a look at my current landing page here: www.silkstitching.com (it's horrible) 🙃

Wow this looks really great. I don't cross-stitch, but an app like this makes me want to pick it up.

    It's gorgeous.

And no, the landing page isn't horrible.

It does the job of catching people's momentum. This is a lovely bit: "How big does the linen have to be? What yarn do you need? We have everything you need to start right now." Great way to make the visitor think "yeah, that's me, I feel understood"

One way to rejig the page structure a bit might be to give more to (to reward) those who scroll maybe by adding a whole new section below all that that vividly describes what they might be going through, and then further down, overplaying the features.

You start with what you got, your current structure of intro, basic features, invitation to download the app. Then you pick up the details by then describing a situation that describes what they might be going through just now. They're printing out patterns they found on the web. They're looking for variety in approaches. They're aspiring to build instincts, not just copying other people's results. So recognize their struggle -> aspiration momentum.

Then another invitation to download, and then you just go overboard with features. Nitty gritty examples of how your app delivers on those nerdy cross-stitching details. Play through an example session where the person sits down with the app. Finish the pages with another invitation to download. These people that came all the way down got really excited. They're not just saying "yes, I'll be buying those patterns", but "yeah, I'll become a cross-stitching wonder". Bet you a page like that will help spread the word too.

Would be fun to try. Yes, no?

Hey, where are you at with your page? What's on your mind as things to change?

        1. 1

yo, i'm super busy with my real job atm, so i put the landing page on hold for now. will come back to it once i have more time.

          1. 1

I can help out starting mid-December if you want to get moving on those changes and can't find the time, if you come to that point.

Regardless, be sure to chime back on how you're doing once you find the time. How many visits per month are you clocking on the page at the moment? Are you tracking that? Tens, hundreds, or thousands of visits per month?

            1. 1

942 visitors in the last 28 days 🙃

                That's not nothing. Congrats

Hey @justusk, it would be a terrible idea to outsource your copywriting. You have a community with copywriter that can help you get it right.

Are you looking to outsource the copywriting for landing page only?

I can help you with the copywriting for free.

Hey @justusk I review landing pages and if you don't mind, I can do a video feedback on what needs to be changed on your current landing page and send it to you.

    1. 1

sure, i'd love that. how much for a review?

      1. 1

        Hey @justusk since you're an IH (it's free) ☺

We can either get on a call 🤙 or I'll record the video via loom and send you the link so you can watch it anytime... Anyone that works for you. ☺

Send me a mail, or hit me up on twitter and let's talk.

Regarding the copywriting side, I don’t think it’s all that bad. I’m no professional copywriter, but with a few changes I think it would be great.

The biggest thing I would really make sure you have down is your headline. You really want it to resonate with your customers and show you understand there problems.

When writing your copy you’ll ideally want to keep it focused on the benefit over the features. Features are good to touch on but, benefits sell.

I saw you had a few really good reviews, you could always reach out and ask what they loved about your app. That could be a goldmine for copy ideas.

I know you didn’t specifically ask for advice, but I thought it could be helpful. Good luck with the app!

thanks for the encouragement, maybe i have to bite the bullet and work on some parts of the landing page myself 😀

What have you built your landing page on? If you tell me more about your requirements, I can give you a better idea of what it might cost you.

right now it's based on a free bootstrap theme. but i wouldn't mind starting from scratch.
but i want to keep the stack as simple as possible. preferably just a static html that i can host on amazon s3.

      1. 1

I see. So you just want to keep things simple? Static images with some strong copy? No javascript requirements? What are you hoping to change mainly?

It's not sounding like a massive project so we're probably not talking about 10,000s! Would imagine you could do this for under 1k. Possibly much less then that depending on specific requirements.
