Pay-as-you-go direct dials & lead generation predictions. My no-code story.

For the past 3 years, I've worked in lead generation in various capacities.

Cold calling, cold email, Linkedin automation, ringless voicemails -- the whole shebang.

Always with personalized customization (first-lines) if I could afford it.

Over time -- I identified a trend & formulated a prediction.

Text-based outreach is going to get harder (in some capacity.)

Cold calling is going to make a comeback (in some capacity.)

Obviously, these things depend on your market, your buyer persona, your level of expertise, & tons of others things -- so don't take this prediction too seriously.

Still -- here's my thought process & the solution I've created in the form of a no-code SaaS.

My bearishness on text-based cold outreach can be summarized with a few key points.

  1. The lead gen agency space is getting crowded
  • this is probably the smallest reason to be bearish. I don't believe in market saturation -- there's always room for innovators. However, you can't tell me you haven't seen hundreds and hundreds of "lead gen expert" profiles on LinkedIn spamming the shit out of you.
  1. People already get SO many messages
  • Especially execs in a popular/profitable niche. Can't even imagine how many messages a Fortune 5000 CEO gets daily.
  1. AI is writing first-lines + copy
  • This is going to be awesome and really simplifies outreach but this is going to allow people to emphasize laziness + volume. The personal touch will be replaced with bulk sends of poor automated copywriting. Don't believe me? Check out quicklines.ai + lyne.ai.
  1. LinkedIn's new limits
  • This was sorely needed but was a tough hit for businesses that actually do things by the book and take part in genuine personalization.
  1. iOS15 obscuring open rates
  • If Apple continues to crack down on unsolicited marketing in general, it will be bad for cold outreach. I wouldn't put any sort of filtering past them.

My prediction

Cold calling is going to become more valuable than ever (if your prospects answer the phone.)

Don't stop emailing, don't stop the LinkedIn messages, don't stop the direct mail, don't stop the ABM.

A lot of you already have something like ZoomInfo so this may fall on some deaf ears but for those of you that aren't doing it yet...

You need direct dials!

Mobile numbers preferably.

If you can get your prospect on the phone & deliver a concise and clear value proposition, you'll do far better than your counterparts waiting to be accepted on LinkedIn or getting scrolled past in gmail.

The problem is -- a lot of the lead enrichment or database tools are expensive & want to lock you into annual plans.

My solution -- Enrichly

We're making data enrichment easy, fast, & affordable.

Upload a CSV of emails & boom -- we've enriched your sheet with all of the direct dials that are associated with those emails.

How do we do it? Well, that's our secret sauce, but it's all compliant & GDPR friendly.

Right now -- I'm I see enrichment rates between 15-40% depending on the industry.

The best part? It's pay-as-you-go.

No annual plans. Use whatever email data provider you want.

But when you want direct dials? You better come to us.

We've got +400MM US phone numbers and data on over 1 Billion emails thanks to our database.

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE billy mays voice

You only pay if we enrich your record!

& you get to choose whether a valid enrichment includes any old home or work number -- or if it absolutely has to include their mobile phone number.

Does it get any better than that?

Use your own data, pay only for what you use, and you tell us what kind of phone numbers you require.

We're trying to make this software work for you, not the other way around.

Hopefully, this has been useful to some of you.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Would love for you to join our waitlist :)

We're launching in the next week or so.
