People who blog: do you get leads and sign ups from technical posts?

HI! I'm a part-time indie hacker with limited time and money to devote to my bootstrapped product. I have lots of ideas for blog posts for opinions, tutorials, and walk throughs related to web development and programming, but I'm not sure if the audience they would attract would be interested in the space my product is in (books and literature). Have people here had any success with this kind of blogging?
