Given the current COVID-19 situation, students, employees, and IndieHackers seem to have a lot more flexibility in organizing their time. I'm curious about how people break down their time to be both productive and without causing burnout. Post a quick day in the life snippet to share your schedule. For me, I usually allocate my mornings to school-work since I'm still an undergrad, and my afternoons and evenings go towards my side projects:
Share as much or as little as you would like!
7:00 am: Wake up, shower & tea.
8:00 am: Read the news, catch up with emails.
8:30 am: 30 minutes to spend on RelayMail tasks.
9:00 am: Time to start at my day job, check out my tasks for the day.
10:00 am: Standup meeting.
1:00 pm: Time for lunch!
2:00 pm: Back to whatever I started before lunch.
3:00 pm: Quick tea break.
4:00 pm: Finished at the day job & starting RelayMail work.
5:00 pm: Finished with RelayMail & programming for the day.
7:00 pm: Some dinner with the SO.
11:00 pm: Sleep.
Super organized - feels kind of like my schedule except it replaces school with a day job. Best of luck with RelayMail!
Thanks, best of luck with Vailable too :)
Just started the exercise portion.
7:30am - wake up, wash face, and go for a run
8:30am - make coffee, actively write out priorities for the day (physical, spiritual, relational)
9:00am - start checking work emails, news, etc.
10:30am - take a break, catch up with friends
12:00pm - lunch, either leftovers from the night before or cook some pasta
1:00pm-3:00pm - for some reason, very unproductive time for me so I go for walks, take a nap, play some video games, random lol
3:00pm-5pm - focus mode for work
5pm - go for a walk with my partner
6pm. - start dinner (if my partner is making dinner, I'm usually answering some emails or hanging out)
7pm-9pm - netflix, video games, zoom call with a friend
10pm - start winding down by cleaning a bit and going to bed
11-1pm - if undisciplined, i watch youtube and realize the time, then fall asleep lol
I find it super interesting how you write out priorities in the morning. When I do this I usually only put work-related tasks and never thought about other lifestyle priorities. Will definitely give this a try - thanks for sharing!
yeah for sure - its just because I just really need to set them the first of the day. I'm pretty scatter brained so it helps me remember what aren't just my work priorities, but my life priorities. Integration is really important for me. Haha.
5:00 am: My 2-year old wakes me up
6:30 am: My 13 & 9-year old wakes up and starts the morning routine
7:30 am: My wife wakes up, joins the party... and I leave for my garage office
7:30 am - 4:00pm: I do stuffs
4:00 pm: Family meeting
5:00 pm: Dinner
6:00 pm: 2-year old goes to sleep
7:00 pm - 11:00pm: Generally TBD around the 4 older folks in the house and then I try to head to bed before 11:00pm.
This is a very rough outline. I've shared my calendaring here though.
It's crazy how you manage all this on top of YouTube. Thanks for sharing!
it's pretty rigorous... but it is systematic. same shit, different day.
I'm tired.
Ahh sounds hectic! I wish you and your child the best. I think it's super impressive that you've been able to fit indie hacking into that tight schedule.
Thanks! I'm trying my best, and it wont be this crazy forever so I'm staying positive lol
