Post your landing page and let others describe what your company does!

Does your landing page describe your project well?

  1. Visit someone else's landing page for 10 seconds, then come back and tell them what you think their product does.
  2. Link to your own landing page, but don't say anything about it.

    Prospectss.com
Artworkss.com (not full-blown landing page but would love to know your views!)

While we were busy developing we continued to follow the BannerBear & Abyssale journey. They are pretty close to what we are building.

We are building Canva on Automation! With Artworkss you submit a design brief & you are presented with various designs auto-generated for you in seconds based on your branding colors, Perfect auto-sizing for all platforms, no need to fix margins, spacing, text, overlapping element issues. Bulk create designs. Save Design Styles etc, all of this without you trying to learn to use any tool like Canva / Crello or have any design knowledge or skills.

      2. 1

I would think I could use this to create banners and graphics programmatically? Don't know if it is purely for ads or also for any other graphic

        1. 1

Great to hear that 😃 Can you signup for the waitlist?
With the launch, we are doing graphics for Social Media Post, Stories, Banner & FB Ads, Blog Post, Stories.
We have planned graphics for Business Cards, Wedding Cards, Invitation, Book Cover, Letterhead for the future.

          1. 1

How can I sign up for the waitlist? I only see an option to create an account?

            1. 1

I guess you were checking out Prospectss. Check Artworkss.com
Let me know if you face any problem while joining the waitlist.

              1. 1

I think I was able to, there is no confirmation or anything? I had to check network traffic to get: {"status": 123}, I don't know if this means it worked.

                1. 1

Yes, you've joined the waitlist. You might have received a confirmation email (I hope it isn't going into spam🙁) also it might show a success dialog box too.
Anyways not to worry we have received your waitlist signup. We shall get you onboard as soon as we can 😃

                  1. 1

Glad it worked :D I received it in my normal inbox so that is good!

    1. 4

Artworkss looks too good to be real. Love the concept. When are you planning to launch? Can I get the demo if possible?

      1. 1

Feel great to hear that! Brings in a lot of motivation💪🏻
We are way behind our schedule to launch it. We are looking at giving out access to all the waitlist users in early August.
Here is a design I quickly generated using the product https://imgur.com/fKrn3Oo
        What do you think?

        1. 1

Looks good, man. Is everything auto-generated?
Can't wait to get my invite. Thanks for the upload :)

    2. 1

All three are clear in terms of purpose and attractively presented - nice work!

      1. 1

Thanks. Feels great to hear that 😊

    3. 1

      Draftss.com -> buying code / design
      prospectss.com -> verify email addresses
      Artworkss.com -> generate design

Everything looked very clear to me at the first glance of every title.

    4. 1

artworkss - Generates a random unique image for any social media post? Maybe you link to the text draft and it uses sentiment analysis to pull in some appropriate images?
prospectss - offers PAs to validate a list of contacts by working down them and phoning them in person?
draftss.com - offers designers to work on your tasks? I have to admit I'm a bit sceptical at the low price for a designers time.

  2. 4

AstrolaHQ - Still working on it, but enough for now before we launch.

    1. 2

I think I would be able to add this as a sort of additional space to my "current" web app. Is the live demo built in the solution you are creating or should I read further to find the demo?
Also it might be nice (when you have launched) to have some video/screenshots on the homescreen

      1. 1

Yep, the idea is you would plug it into a new or existing site using your own subdomain. I.e - hq.yourwebsite.com. The live demo is part of it (only the help docs are visible at the moment). Hoping to show off more once I've coded a bit more!

Yes 100%, will be adding vids/screenshots of the whole process. Thanks @Treviergits

PS: Feel free to join the newsletter form and I'll ping when the trials are up!

        1. 2

Awesome, thanks for the clarification. Will definitely take a look for my new saas tool😁

          1. 1

Nice one! Hoping to have things in a beta stage within next month 🤞

    2. 2

"Help my app grow with content and community."

Cool idea! Suggestion: Would love to see some screenshots or previews on the landing page (maybe I missed it). (-:

      1. 1

Along those lines yep. We basically add tools to help your app grow.

Yes, had a few people mention that. Once the main apps a bit further along I'll put up some screens or maybe a video! Thanks @JHopsWrites

    3. 2

Add many services to a website, like a blog and a roadmap.

    4. 2

Helps you with setting up the basic support system for your app.
Screenshots of sections would have been more useful rather than coming soon.

      1. 1

Hey @prsahu, I've been documenting it on Twitter and there is a partial live demo. I will try get some more images/videos sorted soon though, thanks!

    5. 2

Pay for the support of some hackers to give your project a helping hand around all the edges that would be good to have but you'll never get around to when you are developing it further.

      1. 1

Hoping to let some indie hackers help beta test once I'm at a production stage :)

        1. 1

No sorry, I thought that's what you offered!

    6. 2

I think you need to put image on every case studies/features so that viewer can visulalize the features easily... Btw , clean UI

      1. 1

Yeah, just the initial build. Once the app dashboard etc is fleshed out, I'll do an overview video or something. Thanks :)

    7. 2

Helps you with your next SaaS, also super clean UI.

      1. 1

Nailed it. Thanks, went for less is more approach this time round.

    8. 2

      Help web apps grow.

      1. 1

With a variety of tools yep ;)

      1. 1

Yep, pretty close! They are made with HTML/CSS too :)

    1. 1

Website scaffolding themes for rapid website development.

      1. 1

Pretty good! Which theme is your favorite?

    2. 1

Plain simple HTML themes with no JS. Intended for vanilla deployment with Wordpress or anything like that?

      1. 1

Yep you got it right! Except there is a bit f JS in each but only Vanilla. No frameworks or libraries :)

Do you think you’ll need a theme for a current/future project?

    1. 2

Aimed at hackers in training during a 100 days of hacking binge, this tool will help them keep motivation?

    2. 2

Habit tracking app for developers doing the 100 days of code challenge

    3. 1

It is a tracker, but it is tracking the days you learn, and the days you miss.
Hours you spent learning, and the things you learn each day.

    1. 2

This is a website monitor, I used one of these for years and it was really valuable. The one I used has been acquired I'm not sure it's free anymore. Very clear proposition though. I would be unlikely to pay very much for this service initially but if it were very cheap $2-3 I would. I know that sucks but you might be able to hoover up the convenience buyers at that price.

      1. 1

I was thunking like $2-3 per monitor, as another pricing scheme.. hmm.. but I also plan to add many features, which won't depend on the pricing, like reports, performance monitoring etc, and after I have full-featured app it'd be not that great to get only $2-3 (I know I'm greedy)

Which one did you use btw? Anything you didn't like or missed in the feature set?

        1. 2

I honestly can't remember. I'm tempted to say ping.io In the 12 years I used ping.io I did not feel any inclination to upgrade for anything apart from the faster notification time and round robining. I would have perhaps also considered it valuable to know which countries were down due to replication other than that I wouldn't have noticed any other features.

    2. 2

Monitors your website in realtime. Clean UI. Great work with screenshot placement on the landing page.

    3. 2

      Uptime monitoring! 🔭

      1. 1

No way, it's an online shop for shoes... 😡

        1. 1

Damn it! I knew there was some catch 😵😵😵

    4. 2

      Monitor websites in real time.

    5. 1

This is a tool to monitor websites,I was wondering do you target specific website or any website regardless

      1. 1

I target the site you add. This is for notifying when your(!) site is down, it's not like downdetector

    6. 1

It's crazy how popular website monitoring is among Indie Hackers projects :)
I myself have launched www.howfast.tech, which doesn't have a landing page as nice as yours ;)

    7. 1

Monitor your website and send notifications based off it's up or downtime.

Love this by the way! May need to use this for jemsplash.com and jempost.com

    1. 1

Your site is about glasses which has some kind of new filter which prevents in a better way harmful light

    1. 2

Get local currency from any shop. This would be amazing for me when I land in a random country in the middle of the night. I don't actually believe a random coffee shop assistant would actually do it but I'm listening...

      1. 1

        Hey,
        Thanks 💪
We are doing the currency conversion in our app so there is no way for shop assistant to scam you.
E.g. you arrive to Thailand. Request 1000THB. We charge your card, convert the money from your card currency to THB and the cashier can only scan the barcode and give you your cash.
They cant give you less since we do the exchange and we’ll be suggesting round withdraw amounts so its easy to count if all is there.

        1. 1

I'm just not clear on what would be the big motivator for them to engage in an activity which may seem unusual? If I don't speak the local language and then try and buy my coffee at the same time as pointing to your app, how are they going to make that leap in proceeding with the steps of the transaction resulting in my receiving the currency? I would like for this to work but I can imagine some old lady just looking at me in a bemused fashion and shaking her head.

    2. 2

Organizing who can log into the server and when

    1. 2

agreed -- very straight forward. well done.

    2. 2

    Here goes cartwheels...

Go ahead.. make ... my ... day....

    1. 1

You address a need of sending big files that are to large to send by email?

    1. 1

You're a message board from the 90's that shares knowledge about health and safety... ? didn't get them from the site title, but rather the first post.. There was a lot going on in the page.
I initially thought you were some kind of viking online board game.. The color scheme and the logo doesn't scream health professionals, but hey, its all good.

      1. 1

Haha, well who doesn't miss the 90's? My wife actually said the same thing about the landing page, definitely could use more open real estate. I'll probably have to shuffle things around for the next release to make it less busy. Thanks for the input

    2. 1

Looks like a community based around safety.

    3. 1

News and community on safety? It's a bit hard to understand what it is with just a quick look, maybe an About page or some kind of tagline would help!

      1. 1

Thanks - basically like an IndieHackers but for Health and Safety (pretty niche field). I really should put an about page in there. Thanks for the tip

    1. 1

Tinder swipes for your adverts. You should really be using your own product on your landing page. The setup video is a bit bland to be honest. A normal Joe blogs wouldn't sit through all that data entry.

      1. 1

Thank you very much for taking the time to review my landing page and product. Valuable feedback. I will take care of that.

    2. 1

Tinder for business ideas? That's pretty cool!! My only advice would be to get an SSL cert

      1. 1

Thanks djaenike, Exactly. We are leveraging the power of Swiping which is better than Typing, scrollibg, clicking.

    3. 1

Looks like card swiping as a landing page.

      1. 1

Yep. You nailed it. Thanks ndor

    4. 1

I really like this concept, you deal with lead generation but give it more of a modern feel by swiping left or right.

      1. 1

mrlee850 Yep. Better alternative than the long form landing pages and never ending Quiz funnels.

    1. 1

you're something i probably need but don't quite understand yet.

      1. 1

Let me help you understand 😀 which part?

    2. 1

Looks like a code plugin (can't think of the right word) to control features launched.

      1. 1

Interesting, why you say is a code plugin? The plugin part is interesting to me

        1. 1

I was unsure of how it integrated with the code (in the spirit of only looking for 10 seconds 🤣)

what differentiate mockrocket with rotato.xyz ??

      1. 1

        Great question!

        • Rotato is a great app, but it's Mac only. MockRocket is web-based (WebGL) so you can use it on any platform–Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android. Like Rotato, MockRocket has very simple drag controls to rotate, pan and zoom.
        • MockRocket has very fast cloud rendering so you can export in minutes even when rendering in 4K–no more waiting forever for renders to finish, and no fast computer or graphics card required.
        • MockRocket has a very intuitive timeline, that (in my opinion) makes it a lot more straightforward to add keyframes and create complex animations. Whether you're coming from After Effects, or a tool like Rotato, I think you'll love this new interface
        • MockRocket will support full promo video templates out of the box, so if you don't feel like making a video from scratch, you can load up one of these and have an incredible video in just a few clicks
        • Devices look reallllly good in MockRocket. Our 3D models are high resolution and support all the device colors that you would find in real life out of the box. Want to render a rose gold or a space gray iPhone? Just select it and it will look perfect. No messing around with a color picker and trying to get it to look realistic.
        • Better lighting and reflections–we're talking studio-level. We're borrowing some lighting techniques from professional 3D product rendering to make some reflection and lighting setups that all look insanely good.
        • And loads of other little things

Down the road, there are a ton of other cool features in the backlog that I'll prioritize as users want:

        • Sketch + Figma import
        • Easy multi-shot promo videos
        • Royalty-free soundtrack library
        • Export to Lottie files. You can drop these right into Webflow or your custom website and create a interactive web page that moves the 3D device with your app as you scroll or mouseover-just like an Apple site

A more visual bookmarking tool. Nice ui :)

    2. 1

Ah, a folder for bookmarks, interesting. Does it integrate with Pinterest? I would be interested in this if it automatically did this for my bookmarks which I have already tagged.

      1. 1

Hi @tell_me_a_story, Pinterest integration is on the roadmap, but I want to nail the core features first :) !

      2. 1

I think you can try usepanda.com extension

    1. 2

A quite helpful and friendly tool to find grocery shops nearby 👏

    2. 2

An app to find nearby stores?

      1. 1

Yes and not only that, it is crowd sourced and people would add the items that are available or not for that store.

All in one preparation site for coding interviews for free

    2. 2

    3. 2

A site which helps me to pass coding interview!
Btw, will it help me to become teamlead in Google? 🧐

      1. 1

Yes! It will help for about 50% of the interview process for a team lead at Google. It focuses specifically on the coding interview, and Google team lead interviews tend to focus 50% of their time on coding & technical ability, and 50% on leadership.

The first iteration of the product is purely technical skills, but we're hoping to branch into other skills (including management, product ownership, 'Googley'-ness etc) depending on demand.

    1. 1

A tool that helps you manage your projects.

    2. 1

Project management tool for individuals or small indie teams?

Also, I absolutely love this copy: "Have you ever started a project and then midway left it just because you found out some similar projects are available which are not completely similar but due to demotivation you forget your project’s USP?" It's SO relatable, congrats.

    3. 1

Manages projects in a simple view. I see you are using Paddle too :) Building my new app with it, can't wait for all the tax to be handled their end!

      1. 1

@scottramsay ELI5 what Paddle is and how does it help with tax?

        1. 2

Billing system like Stripe, difference is they collect they payment on your behalf and handle tax from different countries. Read more here

    2. 2

Seems interesting. Why did you go with credits?

      1. 1

To reduce the friction to try out, I may reconsider that in the future.

A tool that helps you keep track of your notes and highlights from books you've read for easy reference.

    2. 2

It was hard to understand this works only on kindle, google books etc.

    3. 2

Store snippnets/highlight from Kindle, Webpages etc all in one place so you can reference them at a later date

    4. 1

Somewhere to graduate your highlights to. I think this is an under explored space but it's a problem that it depends on third-parties. It's like readwise (I pay for read wise)

    5. 1

Bookmark your reading in one place.

The Pitch: Online dating is ruined by scammers/fakes. We keep them out through network protection and AI that watches for them on the platform and disables them immediately. We also allow you to invite friends into the platform (single or not) to help you find your person. Finally, we have a full blown social network embedded inside that is like facebook. We're trying to build a better online dating experience, one brick at a time.

The least that you can prioritize are daily tasks.

What "1st things 1st" is designed for is making complex life decisions with multiple dimensions easier.

Let's say you want to buy or rent a home and have 5 choices with multiple criteria. Then "1st things 1st" comes handy.

Or you have a list of expensive purchases you want to get, but your priorities are not yet clear, and you want to find out which of them you need to buy first.

looks like a tool, likely a website (ecommerce) plugin, that provides extra data and context on leads. Lead enrichment I want to call it.

Hey there, check my project: www.fortythree.me

Also let me know what I could do better.

Productivity tool for mobile (iOS and Android)
Some notes, since you asked: I would delay that pop up. I'm not familiar with the 43 folders system, so that makes me think I have to learn a new thing before I can make use of this. I'm already embedded in my productivity systems and apps, maybe I'm not your target. If you lead with the benefits and outcomes of a successful 43 folders implementation, then I'd be able to see how it would help me - right off the bat.

      1. 2

        Thanks, Terwindt!
The popup is actually an exit intent popup. So you must have been quick to leave ;-)

Good point, the page assumes that whoever comes to it knows what a tickler file or the 43 folder system is. I have some blog posts on what it is and how it works on the site, but the user would need to navigate there. I'll think about how to integrate more of the benefits of the system right into the page.

Looks like a community for people working online during covid-19. In other words, all of us. In the requisite 10 seconds I wasn't able to get any specifics or differentiation. Beyond 10 seconds I see it's more about helping people with digital skills. Maybe lead with this if that's the main focus.

More or less yes! Anything I can improve on?

        1. 1

I checked it again to find something I would improve on (which is hard haha). What I did noticed is that the dock/status bar of your video is a bit distracting, for some reason I check which apps are on there. PS: check if is allowed to show that... https://developer.apple.com/app-store/marketing/guidelines/

Also when I read your header I noticed that you start talking about workspaces very fast, before really explaining what a workspace is (in the realm of your app)

I immediately get greeted with a sign up screen, so I don't really know what you offers beside "learning Japanese". I would create a landing page with some more information that leads to this sign up screen

      Some feedback:

The homepage was really hard to look at, there seems to be far too much text to read. I'd suggest splitting this into short (< 25 word) blocks with graphics, outlining features. I know some of this is on the 'How it works' page but you lost me with the mass of text on the homepage I think.

      1. 1

Thanks for the feedback! I tried to do features but then scrapped it, since I'm trying to build a new way of working with product requirements and can't easily bridge to existing features. My goal isn't to capture everyone at this point, but capture few who are tired of the current status quo.

      1. 1

That's exactly what the core of the idea is. Except I had to implement "git" part separately to overcome some limitations and gain some extra benefits that I believe are crucial for the product requirements use case. Thanks for taking the time to check it out!

Encrypted anonymous file sharing. I have a few questions after reading your landing:
      – What are the limitations of the service?
      – How do I remain anonymous if I pay you?
      – Can I remove my files after sharing or they are there forever?

      1. 1

        hello @sergey_shvets,
        Thank your for your questions.
        2. For transparency, currently there isn't an explicit limit described in our info page but we set a threshold at 10G, so we set a limit at that threshold and believe to be reasonable for a free service.
        3. This has been the most complicated aspect. We are exploring different ways of implementing it. One of which is to leverage zk proofs (zero knowledge proofs), but for now, we offer service as is and rely on support and donations until then while we continue to offer the best services to users. If you have any recommendations/suggestions, we're happy to hear them. You can email us at [email protected]
        4. Files never remains in the server. Meaning, the file is deleted at the same TTL (Time to Live) as the shareable link.

      Embeddable website chat.

I believe you need to differentiate yourself more in your headline. There are drift and intercom who have very generous free tiers and do exactly the same and more. It will be hard to win an apples-to-apples comparison to them. Plus many marketers do want to have as much data about people chatting with them as legally possible.

      1. 1

Thanks for the feedback. However, I'd like to offer a few points of correction.

First of all, Intercom doesn't have a free tier - their pricing starts at $87/month. Drift has a free tier, but if you need anything more than "live chat", 1 seat, and 100 contacts, you'll have to pay for the next tier up, which is $400/month. I'd hardly say that that's very generous.

Secondly, Letterbase is bootstrapped, in the early stages, and is a one person company, so there's of course no way it can compete with the number of features that Intercom and Drift offer with their hundreds of employees and VC money. However, I'd venture to say that for the niche that I'm targeting -- privacy-conscious, bootstrapped startups -- most of them won't be using or even care about 90% of those features.

If you need a comparison, think of Google Analytics vs privacy-friendly analytics such as Plausible or Simple Analytics. Google Analytics is free and super feature-rich, so why would anyone pay to use Plausible or Simple Analytics, which clearly don't have as many features? I think you'll find that the answer is usually either that they're privacy-friendly, or that they are simpler to use -- both of which are true for Letterbase as well.

Also, I think you're expecting too much from a headline. Its main purpose is to inform people what the product is about, drive curiosity, and get people to scroll down the page or interact with the CTA -- it's not supposed to be crammed full of differentiating features. And if you scroll just a little bit, you can see what the three differentiating features are: Letterbase is faster and more lightweight, it integrates directly with your existing workflow (no need to use a new app to talk to customers), and it respects your privacy and offers you full control/ownership of your data.

If you've read this far, thanks for being open-minded about this. I realize you're trying to help, and I don't intend to be argumentative, but I do think your comment can seem misleading to others and I wanted to correct any misconceptions. And of course, let me know if you disagree with any of my assertions.

        1. 1

I don't say that your product needs to change or has no future. Sorry, if I gave you this impression. I wanted to give my personal feedback about your headline. Every product is better, faster, and privacy-focused nowadays. Those words are overused and unless you convert visitors immediately they'll just forget about your product in 5 minutes. Knowing how hard to get visitors as a bootstrapped company, I doubt that this is the outcome you want.

          1. 1

Your feedback makes more sense to me now - thanks for the explanation, and I appreciate you taking the time to look at it.

    1. 1

Create a short 10sec teaser vid from your existing content for the purposes of sharing over social media.

    2. 1

I just read the headline, and this is what I think:

You create video snippets for podcast episodes, for sharing/marketing on social media like Twitter and Facebook.

    3. 1

Are you merging some picture with audio and allow to download a resulting file?

I believe any OS system has some video editor that does this very easy and saves people time uploading/downloading? If you do something more specific, then tell about this in the headline or better show an example.

      1. 1

        Yes, it does. 😄
You will be able to add captions, and animated waveforms that follow your audio and in the future other things.

I will post concrete examples of the product once beta is live.

A platform for sourcing drivers for your existing vehicles?

    2. 2

You manage a fleet of vehicles?

There are some style choices that I would improve such as your choice of blue hues, the current blue has a very high contrast, I would tone it down a little.

Improve or enlarge the navigation bar fonts, way too small.
Not sure if i like the logo jetting out of the navigation bar like that, could be tidied up a little.

Scrolling down a little, I am hit again by the neon blue, and im not sure what the left graphic is for, no text, no animation. Too much text under your mission statement, summarize it, adjust the font and font size.

The images of the cars are not aligned horizontally on the page.

I would remove the dots on the right side navigation they block the front part of the truck anyhow.

I don't get the random images of graphs, they seem like they were just picked up from a stock image website.. Perhaps use the real images your site or create your own animated ones that are unique. I feel like a nice explainer video would be much clearer here. Less clutter.

The form at the bottom looks like it was made by a 9 year old, please improve it, padding, better color, transition effects ,etc.

Apart from that i think its a half decent page, you can instantly improve the title fonts and color scheme and I think they will be much better already.

      Good luck

      1. 1

Rishi_Uttam thanks for that valuable feedback. Correct! I run my own fleet but also help logistic businesses manage their fleets as well. This is the first version of the landing page that went live last Friday. Your concept about the explainer video is what my end goal is but I haven't reached that point, so at the moment the content on the page is as detailed as can be, so when my content writer comes to clean things up they have a clear vision.

I'm a big fan of what you mentioned about replacing the graphic with images I have in production. I'll probably make some of them changes today.

Thanks again for taking the time to leave feedback

P.S the form at the bottom was just an OOTB form lol. Have a great day!

Is it "background-tasks-as-a-service"? I think you try to speak to a general audience where your real target audience is software architects. Your landing page should address their concerns:
      – how do I deploy it?
      – how do I integrate it with my codebase?
      – is it reliable?
      – do I control the deployment?
      – what are the savings in time compare to developing everything in-house?

Would be interesting to source and pre-vet developers from LCOL countries. With pandemic going on everyone is shifting towards remote work style. Hiring developers on the other hand is VERY hard. I think this is very good business to be in right now.

I'd love to chat to you.

Pricing is out of range for me but I'm sure you'll find your niche. I have a few ideas that I can share privately.

I'm probably not your target audience because I'm a software developer and can find somebody living in LCOL country and take advantage of lower rates.

Sign-ed up for consultation and can talk now if you have time :)
