Product guy looking for a technical partner to jointly commit to a side project

👋 Indie Hackers,

I am looking for a technical partner to test the market for a mobile-first application (initially web, potentially native app later), helping sellers to keep track of available products and sales in a specific e-commerce niche that I am active in myself.

My goal is to establish a sustainable software product that creates value for users and an additional income stream for my partner and me. If and when that will happen mostly depends on us but there is no guarantee of course ;-)

I am aiming to find someone to establish a partnership with, where we both invest our free time and keep the financial invest (for tooling, infrastructure etc.) as low as possible and the product as simple as possible, no simpler. Our main goal would be to validate the product idea, agree on the terms with regards to how things would work if the product works upfront and take it from there.

WHAT WE WOULD DO TOGETHER

  • agree on the ways of working and the basics with regards to how things would work if the product works
  • Validate the product idea
  • Co-create a web based MVP
  • Validate the MVP together with users in the respective target audience
  • Charge for the product from an early stage on
  • Set ourselves goals to keep track and verify our plans

I AM LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:

  • is an experienced web development generalist with a passion for web frontend, not shying away from backend or native app development
  • is curious to try out different technologies
  • has an eye for design when it comes to interactions, appearance and usability
  • has a day job or is otherwise financially stable
  • loves to sink their teeth into a serious side project
  • wants to deeply understand the customer, business and marketing side
  • is self-directed, respectful, brutally honest, has own opinions and ideas, is vocal about it and always has the greater goal in mind

WHAT I BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • 10+ years product management experience in various industries and different kinds of products
  • Track record of identifying product opportunities, finding and reaching the right audiences
  • Experience in validating ideas and iterating towards product market fit, based on close feedback loops with early users
  • Building, growing and retaining awesome teams
  • Domain knowledge for the (first of many?) product

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you can see yourself in this. Let me know if there are any questions.

Cheers
Christoph

Hi Christoph! I'm a front end developer with 5+ years of experience developing web apps (also a bit of experience with React Native mobile apps). I was just looking for some meaningful side project to work on that could potentially provide some additional income at some point. Let me know if you'd like to connect!

Pleasure to connect, not on the technical side but I read your post and thought your concept looked interesting. I am focused on the business & financial strategy / cap raising side. Happy to chat if you're running into any needs in those areas! [email protected]
