Programming your growth?

Hi,
I am good at programming but most of my projects/side-projects lack some marketing and a real growth strategy.

So I though: "Maybe I can program my way to sustainable growth?"

Do you know any way to use programming tools to get more traffic? Is such things even exist?
I have some mailing bots already but I use them at minimum because I hate spam.
Any better idea?
