PSA to Indie Hackers

Howdy Hackers!

You have a vision. You work incredibly hard to build the foundations, fundamentals, and structures required to make your vision a reality...

But I'd be willing to bet there is one major aspect of your Indie Hacking journey that you neglect to nurture and devote the due attention towards - YOU.

This post is a reminder that behind each of the creative powerhouses, the genius developers, and the savvy workaholics that make this community fantastic, there are biological machines that NEED the same love and affection we give to our projects.

We are carbon meat-babies in need to care.

I'm talking about proper fuel, frequent movement and or aerobics, and enough sleep every night to recover from the day's doings.

Recently, I've taken on goal for dedicating a minimum of 30 minutes during my lunch hour to get outside, walk or run, and focus on centering myself within my surroundings.

It's simple, but immensely effective in allowing my mind (and eye-balls) a break from the virtual world.

While this is only one of the daily changes I've made to focus on giving myself and my body what it needs to be an effective entrepreneur, I can't stress enough how helpful it's been for my productivity to allocate even 30 minutes to just be a damn human.

Plus, it didn't hurt that today was finally a beautiful day here in Boston.

What's something you already done or plan to do for your body today?

  1. 2

I shut down all electronics during lunch time with the family. No reason to be checking the phone when im on the laptop for the rest of the day.

I also like to just go and lay down on the couch for a few minutes.
Taking a walk is part of the day too. Literally anything that makes you take a break will do wonders.
