Bit of a win today! We just published our first proper book. Ie. this time is isn't just a repurpose of a set of blog posts.
But, thought it'd be useful for folks to know the process, since I think we went about it in a slightly unique way, and it's intended not just as a product itself, but a lead magnet for our other products.
The process started around logging all of the different tactics we've written about on growing a podcast - every single thing, from a 2 minute quick win to a week long strategy - and then grouping them into categories. By the time we'd trawled through our blog posts, our podcast episodes, our paid courses and client resources, we had 80+ different activities.
Then we created a template for each tactic -
That meant writing up each one was quite quick and easy, didn't feel like a huge effort. And we could plug away at them on a regular basis, just filling in the template again and again.
All in, we created a 300 page book with nearly 2 years of weekly tactics, without feeling like an absolute tonne of work (maybe 1/2 a day per week over 6 months). Really proud of it, and I think it'll work as a lead magnet for our products for years to come.
