So I am running a design agency called brucira.com for the last 3 years and unlike any product company that works on weekly sprints, we do have daily tasks to accomplish. I would like to share the ways I adopted in order to make our standup faster and useful:
Ask your team to prepare the tasks prior to the standup call so you don't end up wasting time figuring out what to do.
It's always useful to write down the tasks the previous night.
During the standup call, just ask everyone to speak out about their tasks and highlight if there is any challenge or syncing they will be needing to accomplish the task.
The most important part - Take your wrap up call by the end of the day. During this call, you can discuss whether the tasks allotted got completed or not, and if not completed then try to understand the reason for the same. whether it's because of poor time management or underestimation of the efforts, your team should know about it.
Doing the above things helped us a lot in optimizing our processes and improved our work quality. We developed this app " www.brutask.com" to monitor our standup.
Do add if I am missing out on anything and would like to incorporate the same in our work process too.
This is insightful, thanks! 🙌
