Recap: 1 month building in public

I already had Twitter account for one of my websites, but I never really had one for myself.

I decided to try to build in public my next project. I was not really expecting anything out of it to be honest.

So after building in public for a month(28 days exactly) . This is the result.

I got 19 followers, some retweets, some likes. My followers are mostly other makers/devs.

Is it worth it? It's hard to say at this stage. Getting a few likes on your images/tweets can make you feel good but it does not validate your idea.

I don't always remember to tweet and I am also weary about spamming my followers with endless screenshots of my new app.

I have noticed that the most successful tweets usually ask open ended questions like: what would you do if you had 100k? or Whats you stack?

I personally find those threads a little bit repetitive as people usually jump on them to promote their product.

Will I continue building an audience? I think so. It doesn't really take a lot of time to tweet every once in a while.

Should you start building in public? I guess it depends what you are looking for.

In conclusion, building an audience can be fun and interesting but don't expect to gain 1000s of followers in short amount of time. Unless one of your tweets goes viral that is.

Follow me there if you are interested in my journey or here. Or not. Up to you.
