Received A Shoutout From Indie Hackers! 🤩

The craziest thing happened yesterday!

I was jumping between a couple of back-to-back meetings and working on the code for One Word Domains when I received a notification on my phone that Indie Hackers had just tweeted about my site.

I opened the little blue bird app on my phone, and lo and behold...

I couldn't believe my eyes. The platform that I've been using for the longest time ever since starting my journey as an indie hacker has tweeted about my product!! 🤩

Traffic to my site skyrocketed instantly.

Instead of the usual 5-10 active users, I had close to 50 active users every second:

It went on like this for another hour or so before dying down, but I was able to get a few dozen newsletter sign-ups in the process, which was awesome!

Indie Hackers ended up following me on the same day as well so that was another pleasant surprise 😇

Once again, I'd like to thank Indiehackers for the opportunity, and to the rest of the Indiehackers community – thank you for always being such a supportive and encouraging group of online friends!

Who would do such a nice thing?

Only the wonderful Indiehackers team would! Thank you Rosie! 😊🥰

Are you the one in charge of Indiehackers' Twitter account by any chance? 👀

@steventey We tried to crash your website 😂.

          Hope everything went ok.

      fantastic Steve, nice work!!

@rosiesherry hey Rosie, sorry to hijack but what's the best way to get a tiny bit of support with my account - I'm being really dumb but can't figure who to ask?

I know! Feels pretty surreal to get the support of the platform that is pretty much your online home! 😇

What a coincidance, first I saw your product from Product Hunt 2020 Golden Kitty Awards announcement, then IndieHacker tweet about it, and know I read your post here at IndieHacker. Wow!

And congrats on becoming "Side Projects of The Year". Your project really awesome.

Thanks a lot for the kind words, Ari! To be honest, I still can't believe the various crazy things that have happened to One Word Domains in the last few months, but I'm super grateful for all of them! 🤩

I want to thank you for One Word Domains, I just found the domain for my next project with it.

It catchy, it short and I didn't believe it available :D

I know it's not as crazy as Hacker News' hug of death but I was actually pretty fearful for a minute there when the numbers started shooting up 😂
