This is pretty cool! I don't use a lot of VSCode extensions but this one seemed pretty straightforward. Is it basically a todo list with some other widgets?

I personally would find it distracting to have that open while I'm coding. It would be something that I would want to check when I'm taking a break. I'm sure you can keep it hidden as a tab, but the example shows it in a split view.

For todos, I personally keep a physical pen and paper at my desk. I've tried tons of different software for it and I just could never get anything to stick.

I'm probably not your target audience, but I think it's really cool at least!

Hi @rywils21 thanks for taking a look. That's good feedback. Is there any other widget/information you'd find useful? The next release will come with deep integration into vscode where you can create todos from within your code editor. The dashboard will be more of a home screen/dashboard. I believe that's sort of in line with your observations.

I'm a big fan of Twitter. But integrating that would also be anti-focused work.

I like the idea of being able to create todos from within the code editor. How would that work? Would it have a keyboard shortcut to open a text box? Or would it automatically read // TODO comments and collate them?

The next release will offer a context menu ('Add todo', 'Add note' - notes is new in next release) on right click for any selected text. Will be sure to ping you when the new version drops over the weekend.

Would it be helpful to have a subtle suggestion to create a todo based on // TODO? Something we could probably make available.

            Ahh gotcha. That makes sense.

Yeah, it would be cool if it kinda just recognized when // TODO was typed and then flashed a notification to recommend writing it down in the todo list. (Not sure if that's possible as vscode plugin)

Feel free to ping me! I'll test it out.

Happy belated holiday! - Will look into if we can make the TODO comment parsing working - will definitely take you up on the offer to test it out. Thank you so much! I'll be in touch.

Sounds cool! Yeah, just let me know when you'd like me to give it a test run again

Hey @rywils21 v1.1 is here and you can now add todos via a vscode quickfix for any line prefixed with TODO - would love to hear your thoughts please!

I made another video of me trying out the TODO add to todo list feature. https://www.loom.com/share/371ce3f06c45427aa64a88e8dc330a69

                    That's pretty awesome!

Nice! I recently started using loom so I made a screen recording of me installing and using it. Here it is: https://www.loom.com/share/2406442953654431802c009aed6cdcfa

(Oh! Realizing now I didn't try out the inline TODO pickup thing)

Thank you so much for making those videos! Great suggestions. We've got the ref-linking of todos back to their origin on the short list. Also good point to hide the news in the treeview when they are deselected. :+1:
