Requesting feedback for my product site

I've just soft-launched my product last week. It is geared towards programmers, so quite difficult to market, lots of people won't understand its purpose.

callcounter.eu

So far it seems most visitors don't even have a look at the pricing. What do you think about my marketing site for it? Anything I can improve or clarify? I'm thinking visitor might not understand the product.
Thanks a lot in advance!

My best advice is that you need to talk to a copywriter: I worked for a company where we developed an analytics API tool just like yours, here's some ideas from our old product's landing page you can use for free:

    Headline example
A platform that helps you build and deliver better APIs

    Subheader
The ultimate analytics platform for monitoring, visualizing and inspecting API Traffic

Another example from one of our features

    Logging
View actual request and response logs as they come in, filter down and analyze the requests to understand and debug them

Oh that's a coincidence. Is the product still available? Could we talk about your experience with it?

It's different now, feel free to ask questions

A pivot? I’m interested in whether it was viable as it was, we’re there enough customers willing to pay?

Hi Frank, seems like an useful tool! :) Regarding the problem you mentioned - visitors don't even have a look at the pricing.

I agree with @enda on how to formulate the headline copy. Focus on the pain points - why do API providers hate doing this (without your product)? And how does your product make it an absolute breeze?

It might be also good to list your features or benefits in a thin bar, with icons, right below the hero section, just so it's clearly visible at a glance.

Finally, add a CTA that directs to the pricing or signup page in your hero section. :)

Good luck, and if you have any other questions, I'd love to help!

I've made some changes. The title and CTA like this really make a difference for the better! Thanks.

Do you happen to know of an example of the "benefits bar" you propose?

      1. 1

        Glad it helped! :)

Regarding the benefits bar, this is something I did for one of my clients: https://i.imgur.com/nHXycmx.png

Is this clearer? I can look up more examples online!

I mocked something up. Do you like it?

          1. 1

Yes, looks fantastic! :D Much clearer now! Well done!

        2. 1

Yes! I'll give it a try, thanks again.

Thank you! Great feedback, I can definitely try to incorporate this.

'Do you know the usage statistics and trends of your web API?
Callcounter gathers API usage data and gives you insight in trends, slow parts and errors.' Can you change this to a benefit statement instead?

I'm sorry, I don't understand why it's difficult to market even its for programmers? Can you have 1:1 conversations with them through an interview where you are firstly learning from them and then seeing if there is synergy for a pitch?

    1. 1

I don't know the term benefit statement. You mean is should explain how a customer would benefit of my product?

What I said about it being difficult to market was a wrong explanation. I meant it is difficult to explain to non-programmers what my product does, so some IndieHackers might have trouble grasping that. I've received great feedback already, including yours, so my concerns were wrong :-)

      1. 1

Yes, how your customers would benefit from the product. So just 1 line around it on the main page as the heading/sub heading.

        1. 1

I've made some updates. Is this what you mean?

          1. 1

Much better! can you change the word guess?

            1. 1

English is not my native language. Is "guessing" wrong here? What would you change it into?

              1. 1

Could it be stop guessing performance of your web api?

                1. 1

What about "Stop feeling insecure about your web API"?

                  1. 1

                    Can you elaborate in insecurity?

                    1. 1

Potential customers are insecure about their API for the 3 points I mention in the line below:

                      • performance
                      • errors
                      • usage trends (going up, going down, when?)

I'll send you can email :-)

                    2. 1

If it's easier, I'm happy to jump on a 15 minute call with you and help.

                2. 1

Could be, but that would ignore trends and errors.

Hey Frank- congrats on the launch.

I'm not a programmer, but even so, the landing page headline reads quite long to me, and I don't immediately get what the benefit is.

    I'd suggest something like:

    NO MORE 'X'
Callcounter gathers API usage data and gives you insight in trends, slow parts and errors.

Where 'X' is the real-life downside of not having your product, i.e.: 'wasted hours' or 'trawling through old code'.

    Hope that's helpful!

    1. 1

I've improved the intro. This will really help I think, thank you!

      1. 1

Well done Frank! Much more direct.

      Hi Enda,

Thank you! Yeah, that line really needs cleaning up. I'll have a poke at it tomorrow. Thanks for your feedback!
