Roast my landing page - Motivational App

I'm working on an app that will help you stay motivated, based on my own experience of trying to keep something going but not succeeding. It's been well received but not getting a lot of users, so please share your tips!

It's an interesting idea and I see the potential, but I don't think your current page does the best job of presenting it.

Your hero area doesn't do anything to hook people. The benefits are too broad and generic. And the mention of payment introduces a negative too early.

The wording is also a bit unclear, although that may be a translation thing, because it looks like the page was originally done in Japanese.

I would try to tap into the frustration of failed efforts you mention above and introduce this as the solution that will finally work.

Adding a a bit of an explanation as to why this this type of approach works would help add confidence that the reader can get the result he wants and pay off why this would be a better solution that what he has tried before.

I would also try to clarify how this works in more clear and immediate terms. Perhaps list the steps of create some sort of diagram?

I agree with what others have stated about the social proof not working as well as it should. If possible, use real names and photos of the people giving the testimonials. And instead of just listing the missions and bets, focus on the results.

Your disclaimers are too attention-grabbing. That might cause people to think twice about moving forward.

I would also think about punching up the design a bit. Consider visually separating the sections out a bit with benefit-oriented subheads for each. And look for ways to add a bit more visual interest.

Finally, you should repeat the call-to-action a coupe of times. At the very least, include it at the bottom of the page so you don't leave people who reach down there hanging.

    Best of luck.

Thank you for your feedback! Agreed with the lack of CTA and social proof. I'll work on it.

Love the idea! Unfortunately, I don't think the app is 100% clear from the landing page alone. People are achieving goals or otherwise made to pay up, right? I'd definitely rephrase the copy to make that clear, something like: "Achieve your goals... or pay up!"

(I love the "Do Your Damndest" bit!)

You could reduce the fonts a bit in the "People like you" section to emphasize the main text, and to help the visitor relate to different scenarios.

Unfortunately, the testimonials section without actual names and with stock photos doesn't hit exactly hard, so I'd focus on one or two testimonials (as many as you can get) or omit them entirely because you have a list of things people can do with your app above.

All in all, your app seems really great, so I'd love to see the landing page show the same thing :) I hope this helps!

Delete social proof or showing the user's real name and image sounds pretty important. At the moment user's achievement hadn't been so much collected and I'll look for another way. Thanks!

Yep, social proof is crucial for landing pages when you can get it, but I'd definitely avoid stock photos without names because that can put people off.

    The idea seems really great.
From the landing page, I'm a little confused by how the app would work. Couple of comments:

    • The image circle right at the top doesn't seem to be showing anything (empty circle)
    • The word cloud is a little confusing -- Is this about the people who need to app?
    • Not really clear what the horizontal scrolling cards at the bottom represent

Maybe adding a section to explain how the app would work can help. Right now I'm unsure where the money goes and how it helps me stay motivated.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you for your point out. Some bugs had been fixed and word cloud's expression changed. Much appreciated!
