Roast my marketplace idea (attn: newsletter writers!)

hi everyone! with the rise of personal newsletters and other forms of content creation, i've been seeing a lot of smaller creators trying to monetise by selling ad space. these people have an audience size of <1-10k and seem quite successful. it makes sense, people with smaller audiences are probably closer to their audience and hence more likely to be able to influence them.

other than their own spaces though, there doesn't seem to be a dedicated place for them to publicise this. in turn, this makes it difficult for anyone doing marketing/willing to pay to discover these placements too.

the marketplace would simply match these parties. the landing page itself gives you more information about how it would work. let me know your thoughts! there's a dedicated feedback form at the bottom too, if you're so inclined. thank you for reading!

    ad networks?
it doesn't make sense for publishers to invest the time to get to know these sites, the time costs more than putting a random ad tests there...
economy of scale is a problem with these site/platforms/..
with ad networks a publisher puts ads by topics and such filters.. if he gets interesting patterns from the traffic coming from there he can discover it in his own stats systems, due again, it might just be too small to care.
the ad networks do let you target the sites if the publisher cares..

honestly, at that size, the content creator is the one needing to do the leg work to maximize his income if it makes sense, like doing affiliate or other biz dev.. it's economics and sides of the trading table thing

hi there, thanks for leaving your thoughts! i definitely agree with a lot of things you said. i guess for an advertiser, it's the opportunity to get the message out on a non explicit ad space as well vs using an ad network (like sponsored content on yt instead of running an ad). overall, i'm more interested in attracting people who care where their ad is going rather than just someone who's satisfied with running a campaign on FB and getting the most eyeballs/lowest CPA - although i understand that can be counter intuitive to what marketing basically wants to achieve.

this does align with what i'm hearing overall - smaller/solo businesses really do like the idea but it's less relevant when a business has a mature marketing strategy. really appreciate your input and for giving me things to mull over!
