Roast my passion project 🌱

Hi there,

I'm in the early process of customer discovery for a side project. My background is in design (digital products and brand experiences), but a passion of mine is organic vegetable gardening.

A few times a year I need to plan out the garden in terms of what's growing where and what will rotate out/in. I haven't been impressed with any of the digital tools to do this for a variety of reasons:

  • Plant catalogs are user-generated so they're disorganized and missing key info
  • Mobile experience is horrendous; 1/3rd of the needed functionality is missing
  • Desktop experience is clunky, not built on a modern stack, and ugly
  • Lacks any sort of guidance on growing crops in my Zone
  • No community

I thought I would poll the IH community to see if there are any gardeners here with similar frustrations.

If so.

  1. What problems would you need it to solve?
  2. Would you pay $5 a month during the growing season for it?
  3. Any developers interested in building this with me?

For context, Smart Gardener is currently the app I use and one of the better ones on the market.

Cheers!
