SaaS founder Interview - Derrick SavvyCal

Here's the next summary of our SaaS Dialogue with Derrick Reimer founding SavvyCal. SavvyCal is an app making scheduling comfortable and fast.

We've asked Derrick about marketing, his affiliate program, social proof, verifying a product idea, his personal journey, self-employment and tons more.

Here are my 3 personal takeaways:

  • Social proof can do a huge part in converting him. He says:

"I think it's pretty baked in our human psychology".

Hence why SavvyCal has three sections just showing social proof.

  • Before you build your idea, spend some time having conversations with your target market. "The Mom Test" a book by Rob Fitzpatrick will help eliminate a bunch of biases.

  • Even though SavvyCal isn't a tool that does something new, Derrick thought it will work because of several problems similar existing tools had.

You can read more about his journey here

And if you're interested in SavvyCal, it has a 7-day free trial I'm sure you'll enjoy!

Cheers,
