Saga – note taking with autolinking, backlinks and aliases

Hey everyone, I posted a mockup for Saga here a few months ago and got excellent feedback. Happy to share the live app and hear your thoughts again.

Saga is a web-based text editor that creates links between notes automatically. It recognizes when you mention a page title and creates a hyperlink to that page while you type. It's useful for things like product research, creating wikis, or connecting your meeting notes to clients and tasks.

Some of the core features behind the app:

  • Auto linking – Links to pages are created while you type
  • Backlinks – You can always see where your current note has been mentioned
  • Aliases – Pages can have multiple alternative titles for quicker search
  • Page Properties – You can add metadata to your notes such as text, numbers, or date

The vision for the app is to remove the need to curate your written content manually. You can write, and the app will go back and update old content with links to what you just wrote. Saga will automatically surface connections you were not thinking about.

  1. 1

    Congrats on your progress!

What's the key differentiator between Saga and other back-linking note apps like Roam, Obsidian and even Notion? It's not obvious to me from your home page.
