Saved a user from buyer's remorse!

I asked 10 people about 1.5 weeks ago to try out my MVP to see if they could get signed up, enter their budget, and use their daily forecast to understand their cash flow. At this stage I really wanted to learn about any fatal bugs to get signed up and do simple actions on Peatrick, the daily forecasting budget app I'm building.

One of the users had already placed an offer on a house prior to starting testing on Peatrick last week. They made the offer based on using a traditional monthly budget to estimate how much mortgage they could afford and still have extra cash each month.

Last week, the user entered their budgeted income and expenses along with their frequencies and the cash they had on-hand that day. They had a budget event entered for their planned mortgage to start in late October. Once they had their budget info entered, they found out that they would actually be strapped for cash with the mortgage for the house they had placed an offer on.

They decided to rescind their offer on their house before moving forward to closing based on their cash flow fluctuations Peatrick showed them. Peatrick saved them from buyer's remorse and ultimately being house poor! Unlike the traditional monthly budget, Peatrick takes into account the frequency and timing of income and expenses and the money you actually have on-hand today so you can have the most accurate picture of your cash flow in the future.

So excited to have helped one more person make better financial decisions before it was too late! Hopefully upon launch later this month, we'll be helping many more make better financial decisions!
