Scared, But Let Me Have It!

Here I am.

Eight years after setting off to build a side project, finally about to hit publish.

Let me explain.

I don't mean publish in the sense you are probably thinking. I've hit publish on half a dozen websites and email newsletters, but no-one ever visited any of them. That's because I never marketed them. I was always too scared to stick my neck out and risk some form of pushback for being a "marketer" or having the gall to share links to my websites.

No more.

To me "hit publish" now means actually marketing the website and building some distribution. So that's what I'm going to start doing this Friday.

So first things first. With all that in mind, what do you think of my landing page?

It's a first version. I plan to add sections for each category of benchmarks. E.g. "Benchmarks for Founders", "Benchmarks for Creators", etc. When I have some more quotes that aren't from my user testing and interviews I'll add those in too for "social proof".

For now, looking for genuine feedback on positioning (is it clear?), value proposition (does it make sense?), and copy (is it compelling?), etc. And anything else you can think of.

Newly open to public feedback. Let me have it! :)

Is this ready to launch?
  1. Hell yes!
  2. Hell no!

    Hey Tom,
I've taken a look at your landing page, and here are my thoughts:

    1. 1

Hey! Thanks so much for checking it out. I'm so grateful you took 7:18 out of your day to provide that feedback. So useful seeing how you engaged with the page using the video, and now have some great advice to implement! :)

  2. 1

The concept seems nifty, and it's fairly well explained. The testimonial helps a great deal, and is one of the pull factors for me, but not knowing where that testimonial comes from/ having access to the content they make hurts the credibility.

Also, I'm not sure if you made the poll answers but hell yes and hell no, despite being comical, isn't suitable because it's not a hell no from me but might need more work!

Otherwise, I'm interested to see how you can help with YouTube analytics, and have registered my interest :)
